Verwerking van je infiltratiekrat? Stappenplan voor een goede installatie

Infiltration crates are a great solution to efficiently drain rainwater and prevent flooding. But how do you process your infiltration crate? With this step-by-step plan you can easily and correctly install your infiltration system. Follow the steps and ensure a sustainable result!

1. Determine the right location

Choose a spot in your garden where flooding occurs most often or where rainwater flows. Consider the following points:

  • Make sure the crates are at least 1 meter away from walls or foundations.
  • Avoid areas with lots of roots or underground pipes.
  • Check whether the location is suitable for draining rainwater.

2. Prepare the surface

Dig a hole large enough for the number of infiltration crates you need. Make sure you keep the right depth:

  • The crates should be completely buried and covered with a ground cover of 20 to 40 cm, depending on the load on the surface.
  • Level the bottom to ensure a stable base.

3. Place the infiltration crates

Place the infiltration crates, which are already equipped with geotextile, in the prepared pit. Make sure they are firmly in place and fit well. Use connectors when connecting multiple crates.

Make sure that the connection is at the top of the crate, as the water must be able to flow in from the top.

4. Fill the hole

Cover the infiltration crates all around with a layer of sand/drainage sand. This ensures good water drainage and prevents the soil from pressing directly onto the geotextile. Then fill the hole further with sand and soil until the surface is level with the rest of your garden.

5. Connecting to the HWA

Connect the crate using a PVC bend and PVC pipe towards the connection to your rainwater drain (HWA). Note: depending on the size of your drainpipe you need to use PVC fittings.

With this step-by-step plan you can easily bury infiltration crates yourself and create a sustainable rainwater drainage system. Want to get started? View our range of infiltration crates and accessories and start today!
